The much anticipated Hamleys toy store in Hull has been proved to be a success with shoppers.
Hull has been chosen as the location for one of only 11 prestigious Hamley shops within the UK.
Following a delayed opening in the Princes Quay shopping centre, it had been expected to open Thursday morning, many shoppers flocked through the doors.
Hamleys is the latest addition to the recently opened 3rd floor of Prince’s Quay as retail outlet shops.
Opinions are divided on the new store opening in the city centre. However, the general response was positive.
Shoppers where disappointed, as they expected it to be on the large scale like the Regent Street store in London.
The official opening will be held on Saturday. Events have not been revealed although Paula Patrick, the store manager said there will be “a life size Hamley bear, appearing hourly throughout the day. With free balloons and stickers.”
Then with Christmas only a few weeks away we can look forward to some stunning decorations.
Peter Cook, centre manager, said: “Hamleys is one of the finest toy stores in the world and we are overjoyed to offer our visitors another exciting store that will help shoppers find the perfect gifts this Christmas and all year round.”
The Christmas opening times for Prince’s Quay will soon be announced.
