Celebrating the sea and the silver screen, the museum will show a selection of maritime and sea related films over the next week.
From Finding Nemo to The Little Mermaid, March of the Penguins to Jaws, visitors will be able to enjoy Hull’s rich maritime history together with modern classic films.
In addition to blockbuster films, the event will also showcase documentaries from the British Film Institute and Yorkshire Film Archive that looks back at the links that the city has to the sea, it’s maritime and social history.
Councillor Terry Geraghty hopes that the series of events will encourage visitors who might not usually visit museums.
“The screenings offer people who might not necessarily normally visit museums the opportunity to come along and discover this cultural gem right on their doorstep.”
In a poll conducted by #HullHour on Twitter to find Hull’s favourite sea related film, Finding Nemo was a resounding winner with 56% of the vote.
