Today saw the launch of Hull Monopoly.
The game is essentially the same as the original board game except all the usual landmarks have been renamed especially for Hull. There are all the usual suspects, the Humber Bridge, The Minster, and of course the three major sports teams.
The main challenge of re-branding such an iconic game is to keep the spirit of the original game, but to make it relevant to the target audience.
The thing that will give this the edge for locals is the sense of ownership in certain locations, and the rivalry that goes with it.
