George Ezra’s debut album Wanted On Voyage is certified 4x platinum in the UK, gold in the US, and was amongst the top 10 biggest selling artist albums in this country in both 2014 and 2015, reaching number 1 in the Official UK Chart and spending 122 weeks in the chart overall.
Ezra has had three sold-out UK tours and been nominated for four BRIT awards.
When Hull venue announced that it would only hold 3,500 people it caused some anger on social media as people felt it was a waste when Leeds Arena is just up the road and holds 11,000. People thought the Venue would get no big acts like Ezra.
Paul Savage, Head of Entertainment Sales and Marketing at Hull Venue, said:
“We are delighted to be working in Hull and see the arena as a massive opportunity to bring huge names to the city. George Ezra performs at Wembley Arena just a few days after visiting Hull Venue – acts will come to perform here.
“We’ll be making a number of other announcements as we get closer to getting the keys to the arena in June and look forward to welcoming big names to Hull.”
This announcement has proven popular as people take to twitter to share their excitement.
