Live Event: Goodwin’s Pantry

Today at the Goodwin Hub, in Hull, a special pantry event was held for community members.

At the event there was free food, cooking displays, live acoustic music, live art and a raffle competition.

All the items of food was provided by Fairshare Hull and Humber, they help to tackle issues such as food waste.

It costs members £3 to join and with that, they get free hot drink on arrival and 10 items from the pantry store. New members are welcome.


Lloyd Dobbs, Youth Training Manager for Goodwin Development Trust speaks about the event, he said, “The money we raise for holding the event we put it back into the community by holding more events.”


Karen, 49, pantry member said: “It is important to me as it helps me out, I have bills to pay and its a choice between eating or keeping the house running.”


Goodwin host a number of other community projects including

  • Green life; learning and doing
  • Two-way street; supporting refugees and asylum seekers
  • Create to change; helping young people get into the creative industry
  • Single parent project; supporting single parents
