The Yorkshire Games 2018 returning for a second year

CrossFit Hull &Humber is running The Yorkshire Games for a second year due to last year’s debut being so successful. The games will be held this weekend.

The cross fit based competition has four events: mixed pairs, King & Queen of the North, Team (MMFF) and same sex pairs (Rumble on the Humber) which will all take place at one of their venues based at Bergen Way, Kingston Upon Hull. The first event is mixed pairs which begins tomorrow.

 

CrossFit states: “We not only want to bring you a tough and challenging competition but also want all our athletes to have fun.

We have over six years experience in CrossFit and four years as an affiliate owners with two locations in Hull.”

If you are interested in the competition you are required to purchase a ticket £30 plus booking fee, or if you just want to spectate tickets are £3 for the whole weekend. Tickets are available to purchase from the Yorkshire Games website and if you are wanting to enter one of the event you will be asked to fill out a questionnaire. The organisers will also be running a masters league competition for people over the age of 40 that will be scored and awarded separately.

To enter you need to be over 16 years old and have an athletic background in order to be considered however spectators of all ages are welcome to cheer on friends and family.

For those who are thinking of giving this sport a go CrossFit Hull & Humber have said “Increased cardiovascular and respiratory endurance, flexibility, stamina, coordination, balance and balance.

All our workouts and movements are universally scaleable which means anyone from your elite athlete to someone completely new to training can complete the same workout with changes to load and intensity.”
